Job Description
BIOPHARMASPEC Inc. is a highly experienced Contract Research Organization (CRO) to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries, specializing in the structural and physicochemical characterization of biopharmaceuticals in early research, development and pre-clinical stages. Our scientists include pioneers in the fields of protein and carbohydrate sequence analysis and disulfide bridge determination.
BioPharmaSpec Inc. is currently recruiting Scientists at all levels (BS, MS, PhD) with experience to assist with and further develop our advanced biopharmaceutical analysis protocols, principally by Mass Spectrometry, HPLC and associated classical microchemical and biophysical techniques including CD and FT-IR.
Duties will include:
· Working with our expert scientists in preparing, improving and carrying out analytical experiments and data acquisition on numerous different products produced by BioPharmaSpec’s clients
· Complex interpretations and the preparation of analytical reports
· Assisting in the development and application of novel Bioinformatics protocols for data analysis
· Preparation and review of Standard Operating Procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
· BA/BS plus research/analytical experience or PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Biology
· An interest in the molecular structure of complex biomolecules
· An aptitude for logic, attention to detail and the precise handling of scientific data
· Knowledge of Bioinformatics and/or Python programming would be advantageous
· Good practical laboratory and benchwork skills
· A background in analytical chemistry or biochemistry with experience in any of the following areas: mass spectrometry (LC-MS(MS) and/or GC-MS), liquid chromatography (HPLC/UPLC), Amino Acid Analysis, protein and/or carbohydrate sequencing, Higher Order Structure characterization and experience of microchemical manipulation on a nano- or pico-scale.
· Good basic computer skills with an understanding of Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis in Excel and complex spreadsheets
· Strong writing and verbal communication skills
