REAL ESTATE APPRAISER

A position in the Gatesville Office of the Coryell Central Appraisal District (Coryell CAD) is available to work for a professional organization and learn highly sought after knowledge and skills in the real estate industry that can provide lifelong career opportunities.

The Coryell CAD is seeking professional applicants with an interest in real estate to hire for multiple appraisal positions within our organization. Ideal applicant will be hardworking, intelligent, and capable of conducting the appraisal process and detailing this process to others. We will train the right candidates. Strong organization and computers skills required. Must be comfortable working both in and out of the office environment. Flexible schedule and generous benefit package included. Minimum salary starts at $40,000 per year plus 10% matching contribution to retirement plan. Salary will increase based on experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Performs property appraisals according to pre-determined guidelines
  • Gather data and update real and business personal property appraisal records
  • Review appraisal records for accuracy and completeness
  • Discover, visually inspect, measure and record improvements and land data throughout the county
  • Record factors affecting value and classify improvements according to pre-determined schedules
  • Evaluate and analyze collected data to arrive at a market value conclusion
  • Explain the appraisal process and value conclusions to Owners, Agents and the Appraisal Review Board
  • Read and interpret maps and improvement sketches
  • General data entry as required
  • Must register with the TDLR and continue with his/her professional growth and participate in the district’s education program
  • Shall report to the Chief Appraiser/Deputy Chief Appraiser
  • Any other duties assigned by the Chief Appraiser or immediate supervisor

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Valid Texas driver’s license with dependable vehicle transportation
  • Current vehicle insurance meeting or exceeding the minimum State of Texas requirements
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with the public as well as with co-workers
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure accurately
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with others
  • Ability to organize and plan work effectively
  • Computer literacy for basic data entry
  • Current RPA designation a plus
  • College Degree a plus

 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Requires driving, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, carrying, pushing and lifting up to 50 pounds in the office and in the field. Must be able to walk over steep grades, mud and/or uneven ground such as are found at building construction sites.

 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Indoor activity analyzing data, exposure to outdoors; high humidity and extreme temperatures and weather.
